We hear of NASA’s space missions everyday, and they cost in the millions of dollars. So its hard to believe that a young british teen managed to take some stunning shots of earth from SPACE using a DIY camera + spacecraft thingee he built.
According to a report by the Telegraph, this cost little more than $600 and 40 hours of work. His camera, a simple Canon A570 and a box with a GPS device, radio transmitter and microprocessor were attached to a balloon to soar into the air, more than 20 miles up in fact.
The photos below prove that was more than enough to capture spectacular images of earth.
“I have no background in astrophysics or anything like that, I’m just an engineering student,” Cudworth tells the Telegraph. “People think it’s something that costs millions of pounds, but I’ve proved you can do it on just a £200 budget.”
